STAT Evaluation

"SCREENING TOOL FOR AUTISM IN TODDLERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN"

For children ages 24 months, 0 days through 35 months and 29 days

The STAT was designed to indicate a child's risk for autism diagnosis, not to provide the diagnosis. A child who scores At Risk on the STAT will be referred for further diagnostic evaluation. However, even if the child does not score At Risk, there may be other developmental disorders and should be referred for additonal evaluations if appropropriate.

The STAT is an interactive screening for autism that consists of 12 items tapping the dimensions of play, motor imitation, and communication. It takes about 20 minutes to administer.

The STAT screening is free to families who have concerns about their child that is within the age range. Please call (615) 585-1188 to schedule an appointment.
